If you received a traffic ticket in Florida. In addition to your Florida traffic fine, this ticket will be reported to your state’s Division of Motor Vehicles which could result in points being assessed against your license, auto insurance rate increases, or both.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not take Florida traffic school and simply pay your fine, the State of Florida will report you to your state’s Division of Motor Vehicles as guilty of this infraction.

The State of Florida has created legislation which permits those who receive a traffic ticket in Florida to take an interactive traffic school course (Internet, DVD, or VHS video) and receive many benefits.

To Take Advantage of these Benefits:

Review your traffic ticket and notify the Clerk of the Court in the county where you received the ticket within 30 days of receiving the ticket that you are electing to take traffic school.
Then in most cases, you have
 60 to 90 days to complete the course.

When you receive your course completion certificate, mail this to the Clerk of the Court’s office in the county where you received the ticket as documentation that you have completed your course.
